☐ Do employees receive cybersecurity training? – Are they aware of phishing scams, suspicious emails, and security best practices?
☐ Is access to sensitive information restricted? – Do employees only have access to the data necessary for their role?
☐ Have you tested employees with phishing simulations? – Have you assessed their awareness with simulated phishing emails?
4. Secure Your Email Systems
☐ Is email filtering in place? – Do you have spam and phishing filters to block malicious emails?
☐ Do you encrypt sensitive emails? – Is email encryption used when sending confidential or sensitive information?
5. Protect Your Website & Online Presence
☐ Is HTTPS enabled on your website? – Do you have SSL certificates to encrypt data exchanged with users?
☐ Do you conduct regular website security audits? – Are vulnerabilities identified and fixed in a timely manner?
☐ Are website software and plugins up to date? – Is your content management system (CMS) maintained and patched regularly?
6. Monitor & Respond to Security Incidents
☐ Do you have security alerts set up? – Are you monitoring for unusual activity on your network and systems?
☐ Is there an incident response plan in place? – Do you have a clear strategy for handling cybersecurity incidents?
☐ Do you review system logs regularly? – Are network activity, email logs, and user access logs checked for anomalies?
7. Secure Mobile Devices
☐ Are company mobile devices protected? – Is password protection, encryption, and remote wipe functionality enforced?
☐ Is company data restricted on mobile devices? – Are employees only using company-approved apps and services?
8. Stay Compliant with Regulations
☐ Are you compliant with industry regulations? – Do you adhere to GDPR, HIPAA, or other relevant cybersecurity laws?
☐ Are your data privacy policies up to date? – Do you have clear policies for collecting, storing, and protecting customer data?
